Hello and welcome!

My name is Amanda and I am a Natural Living Mamma. I am passionate about living as naturally as possible in all aspects of my life including living chemical free by making our own body care and cleaning products, using alternative medicine including herbal remedies, essential oils, dietary and lifestyle changes, acupuncture, chiropractic and other holistic medicine practices, reducing waste through cloth diapering, breast feeding, re-using and recycling whatever we tend to buy.

We are definitely not perfect but every day is a new step in our natural living journey. I am always trying to find new ways to purify our lives, save our health, the environment and a few bucks.

A little bit about Natural Living Mamma:

I am married with two kiddos. They are my joy and my light. My daughter E was born in September 2010 and my son N was born April 2012. People always tell me “Wow you sure have your hands full!” I have to say I have never been so happy to have my hands full.

I have had health problems most of my life.

I was never able to maintain a healthy weight even when I was athletic and vegetarian. No matter what I ate or how often I exercised I kept gaining weight. In college I worked at a hospital as a cardiology tech. I worked the night shift so that I could work full time AND go to school full time. One night I hurt my back bad bulging two disks and my health started to drastically deteriorate.

I developed severe pain in my gut landing me taking stomach meds every day for almost 10 years. I also developed severe abdominal pain to the point of tears. After seeing several doctors and being told I was fat and just had to lose some weight, I was diagnosed with Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), Endometriosis, and had a prolapsed uterus. I was told I would never have children.

How did I get pregnant you ask?

By doing my own research I realized that I might have a chance to have a normal life with some basic lifestyle changes. My life has been dedicated to learning how to naturally enhance our health and well being since then and I have been rewarded with my two lovely children and a vitality I have not had since high school.

I am studying to be a certified herbalist and have developed my own line of herbal products and sundries in my shop. I am constantly posting and developing new products and take custom orders. I also am an Independent Product Consultant with doTERRA essential oils which I am in LOVE with.

    Hi Amanda,
I just want to thank you for being kind enough to share this recipe, my son has terrible eczema which ive noticed really flares up when he goes to softplay! I tried some herbal cream from a friend which was amazing, it was a white creamy lotion of which all i know contained almond oil, olive oil and coconut oil, the rest he wouldnt tell my friend as it was a “family secret”! I have been dying to find a way to cure my sons eczema as that cream swiped it out within a few days. I bought a calendula lotion with aloe online but that didnt seem to work on him. Ive also read other recipes with hemp in them (what are your views on hemp?) also i am in the UK so not sure if you send your creams there.? If you do pls let me know…. Many thanks and god bless you for being kind and sharing… Thx Gem
