I feel like I am constantly bombarded with “health advice” saying “take magnesium for muscle cramps” or “take a multi-vitamin to stay healthy” but whenever I go out to the health food stores I find a disappointing number of “health supplements” contain terrifying ingredients ranging from petroleum bi-products, gluten, dairy, corn eggs, soy, GMOs, plastics, and other neuro-toxins. The health supplement market has become terrifying! There are a few brands that I use and trust. I am VERY picky when it comes to health supplements.
When I was asked if I would be interested in doing a review of Natural Vitality I jumped at the chance. This is a company that has been around since 1982. All of the ingredients in their supplements are organically grown, and every.single.product is Non-GMO project verified. These award winning supplements have had such great things said about them, I had to try them my self.
I was given a choice of any of their products to review and I chose the Natural Calm and the Energy 28 whole food energizer, which I received for free. I was not paid for this review, and was not under any commitment to review these products if I found them wanting. Needless to say I didn’t find them lacking and am glad to share this with you.
I chose the natural calm because I am always on the look out for a good quality bio-available magnesium supplement. It is also one of Natural Vitality’s most popular supplements. Magnesium citrate (the kind that is in Natural Calm) is used to reduce stress on a cellular level in the body. It can help your muscles and nerve function, keep your heart rhythm steady, supports a healthy immune system and assists in keeping your bones strong. Most Americans are deficient in magnesium because of our current farming practicing. Most people need a good quality magnesium supplement.
Natural Calm is vegan, gluten free, and contains no yeast, dairy, egg, soy, wheat, sugar, fructose, starch, preservatives or artificial color or flavor which makes it perfect for people on a healing diet.
When I went to try Natural Calm I followed the directions and put 2 tea spoons of the powder into my water. It immediately began to fizz which the kids loved to watch. Once it was all dissolved I drank it up! The fizzing was very soothing to my stomach, which was nice. I kept joking with my husband saying “It tastes like SCIENCE”. We had a good laugh. If you try it you might too. They sent me all of their different flavors, and they all tasted just fine. No nasty medicinal tastes. It made me feel like a good magnesium supplement should! I highly recommend it.
Energy – 28
Energy 28 is Natural Vitality’s “energy” supplement. I really do love the concept here. This supplement is caffeine free. Instead of souping you up for a few hours of a caffeine high, they nurture the body with organic fruits, veggies, and sprouts to nourish and revitalize the body. They also have a blend of “super foods” that help recharge the body and create natural energy without the jitters. This includes golden chlorella, organic maca root, D-Riboxe and Rhodiola rosea extract. You can read all about these on their website HERE.
My husband has been working crazy hours and has had energy issues because he is burned out. I gave him an E-28 packet instead of his usual 8pm coffee to try to help him work and focus. He said it was just as effective as his nighttime coffee with no energy crash, and he was able to go to bed at 11 with no problem. The difference between nourishing the body and having natural vitamins and minerals give you energy, and depleting adrenals with caffeine at all hours of the night is night and day.
As a mother of two I really enjoyed the quick pick me up that I knew was feeding my body and not draining my adrenals. It comes in a 1oz packet and tastes like concentrated fruit drink mix. I just read on the web page that I could dilute it with water which would have been a wonderful idea. I would suggest doing that. My husband liked the strong concentrated flavor.
Natural Vitality was kind enough to offer one lucky reader a $50 gift certificate to their online store! That is just enough to get a box of E-28 AND Natural Calm, but you can chose whatever you want.
