7 Day Real Food Challenge

Do you think you can eat only real food for 7 days straight?

Some of you may be thinking “What exactly IS real food.” Some may find this idea overwhelming and some of you are already eating real food.

This challenge is designed to help those of you who want to eat a real food diet but don’t really know what that takes or where to get started OR for those of you who have been eating real food but fell off of the bandwagon for whatever reason (can you say holidays?)

The challenge is also designed to give you the support you need to eat real food for seven whole days. Just seven days! You can do that.

So, What is the 7 Day Real Food Challenge?

There is a big group of us following this challenge.

Everyone who joins this challenge is making a pact to eat only real food for 7 days – specifically on January 6, 2103 through January 12, 2013 (perfect way to start the new year!). Already there are 11 bloggers who have committed to this challenge and are here as a support team for everyone who joins us. Here is your support team:

So for those of you who think this might be way too hard to do – you have all these experts here to back you up and help you meet the challenge. It’s not only these bloggers that will be doing the challenge but many of our readers will be following along. We will have a special facebook group for discussions about the challenge and a place to reach out to everyone for help and support.

The recipes and meal plan included in this package are all real food recipes including animal protein, vegetables, and small amounts of grain.

It is also specifically designed for Winter season which includes warming foods that are seasonally appropriate. With that being said, this doesn’t mean that if you live in a warm climate it won’t work, the foods are still healthy real food recipes that are comforting and nutritious.

The plan and recipes require basic kitchen tools. I strongly recommend having a crock pot for this challenge, many of the recipes in the challenge are made for the crock pot – and it makes the whole plan work very well. If you don’t have one already, it’s the perfect time to ask for one from Santa.

  1. Ohhh I’m really interested. What does “real food” mean? Like just whole foods – no starches other than like fruit? Or no artificially processed foods – which I already do.

      Mainly no processed foods. The meal plan we have set up is mostly grain free and focuses on nourishing winter foods. I am super excited about the menu set up for the week. 🙂

    Sounds interesting. I already drink Herbalife shakes. Is that considered a real food? But then again I do like to eat cookies and chocolates in between…haha..this probably won’t work for me. Good luck. 🙂

      If it comes in a container it isn’t real food 😉 And I totally eat cookies and chocolate… I just make them my self with good ingredients 🙂 You would be surprised at the tasty goodness in wholesome real food. One of the recipes on the plan is almond flour brownies! YUM!

    I’ve been working toward this too! Only recently have I cut out the grains and so far so good. I do miss my sourdough bread! I have not, however, been a full week without any processed foods. Sounds like a wonderful idea!

    I may have to try this. Having a support group would really help and I love that a lot of the meals are made for the crock pot!

  9. I’m totally going to do this the best I can!
    Question… White flour- not allowed, right? What can I use as a sub in making roux for thickening soups? How about baking? I usually do half white flour & half whole grain when baking. Not allowed, right?
    I MIGHT just have to buy a good whole grain bread, but I really want to avoid doing so. If I go this route, do you know a good one to get?

      Susie you may not like my answer 😉 The whole week is gluten free. NO wheat! Trust me you wont miss it. There is a lot of baking with almond flour. Great desserts and wonderful things on the menu. I could explain why but its a lot of info to digest. I highly encourage you to buy the guide and follow along with us! IT includes a shopping guide, how to prepare all the meals, including what to prepare ahead of time, a complete menu that is delicious and the meals are easy. You know how to get a hold of me to get all the nitty gritty details 😉
