Natural Mamma Dry Itchy Skin Salve is a blend I made up for my daughter’s “winter skin” (read: eczema).

SAM_2932

This blend of organic oils and herbs is soothing to the skin giving it what it needs to revitalize and nourish its self into soft, supple skin.

Ingredients: Organic Olive Oil, Bees Wax, Cocoa Butter, Organic Chamomile, Organic Marshmallow rootOrganic Nettle, Organic Plantain, Organic Yarrow, CPTG Lavender Essential Oil, CPTG Melaleuca Essential Oil, CPTG Geranium Essential Oil, CPTG Frankincense Essential Oil

I have refined and tested this recipe with several friends until it was just right. My daughter (2 years old) asks for this salve constantly and lubes her self up with it. She just loves it!

You can purchase this salve from my herb store HERE.  If you would like a custom salve without the coconut oil, or one of the herbs on the ingredient list, we can work together to customize this recipe to fit your needs.

Here is my original recipe for Ellie’s Eczema Salve if you like to make your own! See the original post here.

I have purchased 3 orders of your eczema salve, and we are completely in love with it!! My daughter had some eczema patches for over a month, and I tried everything on it, but nothing worked. I was so relieved when I bought your eczema cream and my daughter’s spots were noticeably better over night! Within 2 days, it was completely cleared up. It also smells amazing, and I know it is made from natural, healthy ingredients, so I feel 100% safe using it on my 2 year old. Now my mom and I are both using it on our dry skin :) Thank you for making me a nut-free version, it works perfectly!!

Would Ellie’s Salve be good for my 6 month old? Should I make without fragrance? I am doing what the doctor suggest with no success. I am at my wits end. Something has to work. I know she has to be miserable.

    • Amanda says:

I have used this on my daughter since she was 6 months old. It is very safe for babies. I didn’t add the oils for fragrance but for specific therapeutic benefits, so as long as you are using a good 100% pure therapeutic grade oil the oils will actually help relieve the eczema. You can eliminate them but it wont be as effective. I hope it helps! Have you tried an elimination diet? Dairy, Gluten, and Soy are the top 3 causes of eczema followed by any other food sensitivities. I hope it helps!

Just so that you are aware. A lot of people aren’t. Eczema is an allergic reaction to some type of food that you are eating. Along with dandruff. I stopped eating dairy products and I have noticed a difference in my skin. Not so dry. And I cut out bread items as much as possible. We will see how that goes.

Hi Amanda, thanks for your salve receipe. I have made this but find that my sons rough skin comes back everso quickly, but it it very good otherwise and is great to know i dont need steroids… I think his eczema is stress and heat related…Does the salve you sell in your shop contain the extra ingredients stated ie yarrow and marshmallow root etc?.. Would i benefit fron adding those into your written recipe? Or can i add more plantain oil or something to heal the skin quicker?? Many thanks Gem

    • Amanda says:

Hi Gemma, I am glad the salve is helping. If his rough skin keeps coming back you might look at his diet to see what is causing the skin to be rough. Your skin is a good indicator of internal health. If something is off the skin will tell you. You can add the extra herbs and see if it helps, but usually, if it continues to be an issue, you very well might be dealing with a dietary issue.
