The other day I stepped on a tack strip and put three nice deep puncture wounds right into my foot. In times like these I am very grateful to have the know-how to make my own antibacterial salve that is safe, natural and effective in treating wounds, especially having a two year old daughter who is just as accident prone as her mother.
Here is an easy recipe for homemade antibacterial salve that you can make and have on hand to use whenever you might have a scrape, scratch, ding or dent. I like to have a container in each bathroom, and carry a smaller container in my purse and in our camping packs as a “just in case”…
I know a lot of my readers are wanting this recipe! I shared it on a guest post with Robyn’s View so go check it out! I know you will love it.

  1. Great post! I will definitely give this a try.

Genius! I will absolutely be trying this. Now, is there a similar recipe for hand sanitizer?

    • Amanda says:

This works well as a hand sanitizer too. You can also use doTERRA’s On Guard essential oil blend with a base oil like almond or olive oil. It is a great sanitizer and none of the antibiotic resistance or nasty side effects like you get from the alcohol based stuff.

      On Guard®
      Protective Blend

On Guard is dōTERRA®’s unique, proprietary blend formulated to support healthy immune function. Wild orange essential oil, combined with clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus and rosemary offer a fragrant, natural and effective alternative to synthetic options for immune support. On Guard, with its unique aroma, is one of our most versatile blends. It is also safe to use on counter tops, as a non-toxic way to cleanse surfaces, or to purify the atmosphere by diffusing. On Guard is superb for eliminating and controlling pathogens due to the potency of its constituents. For aromatic, topical, or dietary use.
